Ingredients
1 can of low-sodium sardines in water
Replacement: low-sodium tuna in water
1 egg
1 piece of non-preservative, whole grain bread
Replacement: Non-salted crackers; any healthy, low sugar bread
Note: These ingredients are moreso guidelines and not necessarily recommendations. You will not be using 100% of the ingredients. For example, some animals, like small fish and bearded dragons, should not be given the sardines. This is because they are bony fish and they risk damaging your animal's throats and stomachs. Also, very few animals need to eat a whole egg, as it is high in fat and protein. For example, egg would be healthier for baby axolotls vs their adult counterparts because they need more fat and protein, and even then, a whole egg is too much for them. A small piece of half an egg will be more than enough for most animals. Also, this recipe was designed to follow a certain aesthetic, but feel free to have creative freedom when following this recipe. For example, I rearrange the sardines into symbols and cut the egg into shapes, but that does not change the nutritional profile of this recipe at all. Do not feed your pet bread nor the bread replacement if they are carnivores. Do not feed omnivorous pets a whole piece of bread. Remove any uneaten food within 30 minutes. Consult with your vet if you're unsure whether this recipe will be safe for your animal.

Preparation
In a small saucepan, place the egg. Add enough cold water until it is at least 1 inch above the egg. Cook on high heat uncovered until there's a rapid boil. Remove the saucepan from heat, cover with a lid, and let sit for 15 minutes.
Only if you're using bread or a bread replacement: Insert the bread into a toaster oven and cook until desired texture. If using a conventional oven, cook the bread for 8 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit/ 177 degrees Celsius. Remove from oven and let cool. Cut toast into the shape of the Sagittarius symbol.
Carefully open the sardine can over a sink to avoid spillage. Take a chunk of sardine and assemble it so that it lines up with the symbol of the toast.
Peel the egg. After discarding the shell, cut the egg in half. Cut a small slit in each half to make them resemble hooves. Assemble them on the corners of the toast.
